(A smidgen of background: Ricky’s kindergarten teacher is named Mrs. Young and this week his class has been learning about the letter C.)
On the ride home from school today, Ricky was telling me how he made a Cookie Monster in class. I asked him why they made Cookie Monsters. He said, “Just because.” So I tried to be the thought-inducing parent and our conversation went like this:
Me: “What letter are you learning about this week?”
Ricky: “C”
Me: “What letter does Cookie Monster start with?”
Ricky: “C”
Me: “So do you think that might be why you made Cookie Monsters today?”
Ricky: “No! That’s what you think. I think we made them because Mrs. Young said to!!”
