Ricky really enjoyed the day we harvested grapes. He loves to ride in the wheel barrow.
Here is Ricky watching tv through the banister in our dining room.
We put a cat door in the wall to the room with the litter boxes. Ricky thinks this is a great place to stash toys. Today he tried to stick his own head through . . . he got stuck!
We adopted three cats in October and Ricky really enjoys them all. This is the cat carrier we brought them home in and if you look closely, you can see Maggie by Ricky’s head. She runs the least from him so Ricky loves her best.
One day at Grandmama’s house, Ricky ran to a back room and pulled out a pillow and blanket. He put the pillow on the floor for himself and covered up “Uncle Duke” with the blanket so they could be comfy while they watched a cartoon.
It was really cute until Ricky SAT on Duke!
Introducing Linus (on the left) and Maggie. Our third cat is an adult orange tabby named Hunter. He is growing to like Ricky, but still runs from him a lot.
For the most part, Ricky is really gentle with the kittens. He’s learning that picking them up by the neck is bad and that it is okay to throw our stuffed cats through the banister, but not the real ones.
Sleeping with a pillow is a fairly new concept for Ricky and he’s learned to love them quickly.
I don’t think words can explain what happened here.
Ricky enjoys helping his Mom (He finally said “mom-mom” two weeks ago! I was very thrilled!). He really likes helping put things in and out of the dishwasher and using a broom.
Ricky is showing off his newly found muscles! His shirt is actually stuffed with a bunch of soft alphabet letters. He didn’t seem to notice the difference at all.
Several new molars have been breaking through this last month. We often find Ricky with all five fingers in his mouth and his shirt soaked from drool. But he has an awfully pretty smile!
Words, words, words. In addition to Mom-mom, Ricky has also learned hot and cold (he blows on all food now because he thinks it might be hot), “ready, set, go” (after which he usually takes off running), day, sky, kitty, “where are you?” , “wow, what’s that?” (his favorite), “there she is”, “Kev” (this one makes Cindy laugh every time Ricky calls it), “where’d Ricky go?”, and more I’m sure. He has just really started talking a lot, unless, of course, we want him to show off for family or friends.
Ricky got to carve his first pumpkin this year. Since Ricky doesn’t enjoy having sticky or dirty fingers, he wasn’t overly thrilled with the experience. He did love the candles glowing in the finished Jack-O-Lanterns, although he kept trying to blow them out.
Ricky much preferred playing in the goop with his spoon after Momma got it out for him.
This is Ricky trying on his almost finished Halloween costume.
A week before Halloween, Grandmama’s ward had a Trunk-Or-Treat and we all got dressed up to go.
This is Halloween night. Ricky did not enjoy getting his face painted that night and so he doesn’t have as much on. If you look at a close up of his face, you can see the tear streaks in his cheeks.
Some years it is easy to get Kevin dressed up. The cowboy and vampire years, for example. This year was more of a challenge for Cindy, but look at what a great clown he makes!
