August 2018

We camped a couple of nights at Weber Memorial Park with the Johnsons. Kevin dropped us off then came back after work for the day. It was a bit warm and super dusty but the kids didn’t seem to notice any of that. They found a playhouse in the shrubs, dug and dug in the dirt, and walked in the river as much as we’d let them! Rusty did cut his leg pretty badly by walking into the fire pit in the dark, but Josh being a nurse came in handy.
Our Wanna Do List said, “demolition derby,” so we went to the county demolition derby! The county fair itself was fun. Lots of animals and fair food! But we all liked the derby best of all!! It was loud and crazy and a couple of cars caught on fire and tires flew off…it was completely awesome and definitely something we want to do again!
Squeezing out a little more summer fun! * Cat naps … with a cat! * This summer Ricky discovered the joy of lawn mowing, audiobooks, and my anti-gravity chair. * Tommy earned his Bobcat Rank in Cub Scouts. * Rusty carved himself a soap rabbit to earn his whittling chip. * And gotta use that peacock pool one more time!
And then summer was over … Ricky started 9th grade, Billy started 6th grade, Rusty started 4th grade, and Tommy started 3rd grade.
