We woke up to snow this morning and the boys were out making a snowman before 9 am! It was fun to pull out the snow gear and suit the boys up–besides, what is more cute than a 1 year old who can’t really walk because he’s so puffy?
Billy always enjoys being outside and this morning was no different. He was not too fond of his hand being so cold after he dunked it in the dogs’ water dish!
The snow was starting to pick up just as the boys came back inside and continued heavily for the next 3 hours! We had more than a foot of snow when we left for church this afternoon (to which we were a bit late because our van got stuck in the drift between driveway and snow plowed road).
Today was the primary program at our church for the little kids. Ricky got to sit on the stand with his class and he even got to write his own one-sentence talk. Actually, he was given a sentence to finish and he chose it all by himself (no amount of persuasion could have altered his decision either). When his turn came, he told his teacher that he did not need her help and loudly and clearly said, “I know that I am a child of God ‘cuz . . . I am a child!” He got a lot of chuckles from the congregation! I was so proud!!
On Friday, the boys and I helped harvest the pumpkins from our friends’ small pumpkin patch. Billy was mostly interested in standing in a hole that he found, but Ricky had a great time finding all the pumpkins–orange or green!
I have mentioned Billy’s fascination with hats. He found a pair of sunglasses the other day. I tried to get a picture of him with the sunglasses on his hat, but I only got his belly (that’s what you get for laughing while taking pictures).
The worst part of the storm was that all of our trees still have leaves on them. We lost a bunch of branches, even though I spent about an hour knocking a large stick against all the branches I could reach to get the snow off. – Kevin
