I asked Ricky to go check on Billy for me. I knew the little one was upstairs playing, but wasn’t sure what he was doing. Ricky came back and informed me that Billy was playing with a toy on the secret place in my bedroom. Not really sure where the “secret place” was, I probed a little. Apparently, when I say cedar chest, Ricky hears, secret place.
And, to Kevin the other day Ricky amused himself (and his dad) by saying, “Hey, horse! Eat your hay!” No real reason to call Kevin a horse, he just thought it was funny that hey/hay had two different meanings!
It’s funny to see how we each interpret Ricky. The secret place actually has some history that Cindy wasn’t aware of. One day Cindy opened her cedar chest to get out something – she keeps random things in there . . . anyway, Ricky saw that she had opened it and was amazed that he never knew that it opened. But he missed how she opened it. It has some fake doors on the front with handles, so he studied it very intently. Eventually, he asked me how to open it. Attempting to avoid any future problems, I told him that it was Mom’s secret hiding place and we can’t open it. Now, many months later, out of the blue, he calls it the secret place. Kids are great! 🙂
I love reading about the boys and all of the fun things they say and do! Thanks for keeping this updated and always making me smile after I read it! Love you!
