This afternoon we met Uncle David and Aunt Amber at Thanksgiving Point for a short visit. The boys loved running with Jackson and we all got to meet Megan for the first time.
We went to the petting farm area at Thanksgiving Point and the boys loved it. They love all animals, so it was perfect for them.
Petting the Clydesdales
Feeding the ponies (for some reason, they weren’t too keen on eating the rocks that Billy kept trying to give them)
The only real animal Rusty saw was his musical frog toy …
The boys had to spend some time in jail – we’ve warned them about misbehaving …
Rusty talking to Megan (she was born 6 weeks before him)
The Pony Ride
We had to wait about an hour, but the boys have not had the chance to ride a horse yet (shhh, don’t tell people at my church – I’m pretty sure it is a sin here in Rodeo Country).
The boys seemed to really like the ride. Dang it. Now we may have to do it again!
Look at Ricky’s form. Don’t you see a career in horses in his future?
Then Kevin took the boys on a hay wagon ride with David and his family (Rusty and I enjoyed the shade instead).
Then it was time for some good bye hugs, of which Jackson was NOT a fan.
Hopefully we can see David and Amber longer on their next visit to Utah.
We then had dinner with Dan and Cathy (some very yummy meatloaf). The kids played nicely together (whew) until Cate made a discovery. She discovered Rusty’s pacifier and spent the rest of our visit trying to steal it. She was successful more than once! Not only would she steal it right out of his mouth, but she’d immediately pop it into hers! Cate hasn’t used a pacifier in a year! [Side note: Billy is off of his pacifiers. Do you hear the angels singing? And it wasn’t even so bad. He went to sleep without them Thursday night and so we hid them all and told him that they went away. He asked for them a few times and sadly said to me one night “Bo-fiers went away.” But they are gone. Hooray!]
Here is Cate about to swipe that pacifier.
And I’m pretty sure she was plotting another attempt when I took this picture.
The boys had such a fun day with their cousins. And putting them to bed tonight was a breeze … hey, everybody, let’s play again tomorrow!
