The weather here has been extremely cold. The highs have been in the low 20s and the lows have been below zero, so we haven’t let the boys out to play in a while. Today, it finally got above freezing, so Ricky and I (Kevin) decided to go out and make a snowman. Billy thought it was too cold, but by the time we came in he was ready to go out.
I loved being out in the snow with Ricky. He is growing up so fast! He never complained about how cold it was and instead sang “Frosty the Snowman” over and over again as he worked. When he wasn’t singing, he was talking. He complimented me on being a good “roller” and that he was the best “holer” – I was rolling the snowballs and he was filling the holes that he would find in the snowman with snow.
Ricky is always very particular about how we decorate the snowman. So this year Frosty has eyes of charcoal (the fake kind from the BBQ), a pencil for his nose, a curly stick for his mouth/smile, and hay for his hair/hat. Then he decided that Frosty needed a flower, so we used leaves. I shouldn’t forget the sticks for arms with gloves on his hands and this year Frosty even got feet…
