Kevin’s little brother David and his family spent time with us on New Year’s Eve. The boys loved having Cousin Jackson here to play with.
David’s little girl Megan is only 6 1/2 weeks older than Rusty and the two had fun playing together.
We all went sledding the afternoon of New Year’s Eve. I think all of us enjoyed it, except maybe Billy! The poor guy just couldn’t catch a break. He seemed to get a face full of fresh powder every time he went down, so he finally just started scooting down on his bum by himself. Billy is good at making his own fun!
This was an attempt to protect Billy from the snow. I don’t think he enjoyed this position any better … (that’s Billy’s hand dangling out)
I just couldn’t sit the fun out! The first time I took Billy down, we blazed a beautiful new trail. When we finally stopped, I couldn’t stop smiling and then when I looked down at Billy, I couldn’t stop laughing. There in my lap was a Snow Billy. Not just a dusting, but a packed on, completely covered in snow little boy with no face or body, just arms and feet sticking out. I dusted him off and found his face and it was not smiling! That may have been his last time down on the sled that day!
Here you can still see how red his face is from all that snow (and don’t mind the hideous camera angle, the multiple layers of clothing, and the pregnant belly which all make me look fabulous, I know!).
David and Jackson had a good time as well. Megan fell asleep in the car, so Amber spent most of the time in there with her.
Kevin and David raced down the hill (Ricky tried to keep up using Billy’s Bum Trail).
Rusty and I mostly just hung out on a blanket and cheered everyone on! He wanted to join in though and whenever Kevin was near us, he wiggled and shook and did his best to let his dad know that he wanted to sled too!
David may be Kevin’s younger brother, but he hasn’t been littler for a long time!
Thanks for a fun visit!
That night, my mom, aunt, and brother and his family came over for treats, games, and ringing in the new year. Here is a glimpse of our heated game of Clue …
