Ricky said, “I hate reading!” This was a complete SHOCK to his teacher (whom he told) and me (when she told me)! He doesn’t hate reading! I can’t get this boy to leave the books alone! So I sat him down and we had a little chat. Ricky kind of laughed when I asked him about it and said, “Reading at school is a waste of time!” He then went on to say, “I’d rather be doing the fun stuff.” Glad we cleared the air on that one! (In his defense, they have been spending a lot of time making Ricky read little books at school trying to determine his reading level and while he is doing that, he is missing out on the crafts and other activities in class.)
Billy said, “I’m not arguing! I’m just talking to myself!” We’ve heard this one more than once. Usually it follows Kevin or I saying, “Billy, I love you too much to argue” because he is arguing about putting on his pjs or picking up toys or having the dome light on as we drive home at night. Again, good to know. We’ll just pay attention to see if he starts answering himself any time soon!
