Billy was showing me some pictures in his Star Wars coloring book the other day. He would tell me the names of the people he knows and ask me the names of people he doesn’t know (most of them). Since the coloring book is from episodes 1-3 and I’m not so much a fan of those, I wasn’t a whole lot of help.
However, we got to a picture of Jar Jar Binks (a long-eared silly character that is easy to remember). Billy pointed to him and said something and quickly turned the page. Since I knew Jar Jar’s name, I made him go back so I could tell him. Billy didn’t want to hear his name. He said, “That guy’s a snail” and continued through the book.
I told Billy that Jar Jar isn’t a snail and I was given that look…the look that says, “Good grief, Momma!”
Then Billy said, “He’s the SNAIL without a SHELL! … That rhymes.”
And then he went on to do something else.
