During one of our random dinnertime conversations this week, Ricky said, ” [something] is as bald as an eagle!”
I just casually mentioned that bald eagles aren’t actually bald but really just have white feathers on their head so we call them bald. The joke then became that we call Poppy bald because his head is white. Ha ha ha.
It was just silliness and fun. Then there was a brief pause, probably while everyone was chewing, when Billy decided to speak up with, “Poppy, you’re as bald as an eagle!”
We all chuckled and Kevin said, “Billy, do you now what a bald eagle is?”
Billy prepared to stuff some more dinner into his mouth, shrugged, and very matter-of-factually said, “Nope.”
