Billy loves to pray … and he says the sweetest things. Like the time he prayed for Kevin to die so he could have all his hair back (we believe in a resurrection and that our bodies will be perfect at that time)…try not laughing during that prayer!
One of Billy’s most common lines is, “Please bless that Ricky will like my kisses again …” The big brother has decided kisses are a bit gross and refuses to receive them from Billy.
This morning Billy’s prayer included, “Bless us all to choose the right … all the way up until we die!”
But one of my favorite prayers was a bit more noncommittal. Perhaps, it was a practice in accepting God’s will, but it made me laugh.
He prayed, “Please bless that at Christmas we will get the things we want. Or not get them. Please bless Poppy that the hair on his head will or won’t grow back…”
There you go! Or not.
