I keep a note on my phone of various things the boys say or do that I think might be blog worthy. Sometimes they get black-balled and other times I totally forget to check for something new. And then there are the times when I take a blogging hiatus and just don’t blog anything at all.
I recently looked back at that list. Some of the things I did blog about. Some of them I honestly don’t remember any specifics about. Others aren’t really worthy of a blog post of their own. So today you get a list … a list of my list and anything I add to it is a bonus.
1. Tommy calls Kevin “Pop” – this isn’t an always thing, but it does come out once in a while and it is SO. DANG. CUTE.
2. Rusty says things are “awesome” – I think I’ve mentioned this before. All barely four year olds should use “awesome” as their favorite description word. Because, you know, that would be awesome.
3. Ricky had a tooth pulled – This happened around Christmas time and I may have mentioned it. It was a molar that was cracked pretty bad. He now has a spacer device thing in there. He doesn’t complain about it and unless you make him say “ahhhh,” you don’t even notice. He was cool at the dentist … happy gas and SpongeBob Squarepants kept him perfectly content.
4. Kicking Ricky in the head while sledding – Again, at Christmas. I know I mentioned it. I did not KICK him. I push him with my knee and it was to save him from hitting a tree. I’m a good mom.
5. Kevin’s shock about Ricky losing his silver tooth … two weeks after he lost it! – Did I mention this one? I forget. Ricky had a tooth capped (baby root canal trauma, spring 2010) and it fell out at Grandmama’s house a couple months ago. It was just time for it to come out. Nothing wrong with it. It just came out. Well, Mr. Observant, I mean Kevin was totally shocked two weeks later when he noticed Ricky’s tooth missing. We all laughed because we’d told him about it. He was just so overwhelmed with work that he hadn’t really heard us. Silly, Kevin.
6. Rusty asking, “Is this a happy face?” – I wish he did this more often than he does. It cracks me up.
7. Rusty singing “I am a Child of God” – Rusty’s version of the first verse goes “… He has sent me here. Has given me a furby home with parents kind of dear. Lead me, guide me …”
And there you go.
