Rusty turned four last month. He was so excited to finally be having HIS birthday!
He started his celebrations with some gifts from his brothers …
And that led to giving hugs to say thank you …
And thank you kisses …
And that led to other random cute hugging …
Rusty weighed in at 34 pounds for his birthday … 25th percentile. A bit below average, but that’s okay.
His height on the other hand is right at average, 50th percentile, at 40 inches.
He was deemed well at his well-check. Rusty is a toe-walker, but it isn’t hampering his growth or his tendons, so all is good.
I was gone to a womens’ conference most of the day, so Rusty was lucky enough to get an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. Hey, at least I got his name on it … and he quite liked it, so I don’t feel too bad for not making him a cake this year.
Who knows what Rusty wished for. You never can tell with this kiddo!
Rusty got a few more presents to end his birthday celebrations.
I’ve never seen a child so excited to get underwear, but the Lego Batman underwear from Grandmama earned a very loud squeal!
Rusty loves pictures. His brothers gave him a couple of picture encyclopedia type books – one about Legos and one about Batman and Rusty could just flip through the books all day. It was no surprise to me that, as much as he loved the cool dinosaur from Aunt Nancy, the back of the box with all the other toys available in the set held his interest for days.
Rusty is fun. He prefers Kevin to me (I hear several times a day, “I want Poppy!”) but he does give good hugs – when I am lucky enough to get them. He always falls victim to smiling, even when he doesn’t want to, when I say, “Rusty, don’t smile! Don’t do it! Don’t smile!” He knows what he wants and when he wants it. And Rusty can tell you all about Batman and his enemies and most of their vehicles. Rusty’s brothers all love playing with him and having him around.
And Rusty knows he shares his birthday with the groundhog. That kid is smart!
Love you, Rusty!
