There are so many reasons to be excited about our trips to California. Seeing Grandpa Brent and Grandma Jeanne…seeing aunts and uncles and cousins…just being on vacation and doing different things…but most especiallly – Grandpa Brent’s pool! The boys love the pool and they talk about the pool and they get excited at the thought of swimming in the pool. Is it no wonder that we weren’t at Grandpa Brent’s home very long before Kevin and the boys were IN the pool!
Even though Ricky is a pretty good swimmer, I opted to have him wear the life jacket at least the first time in the pool. Some might say he is a little old for that, but why worry? I wasn’t getting in the pool (my feet were quite swollen – they hadn’t handled all the driving and broken A/C very well) and I didn’t want Kevin to have to divide his attention among the boys. They all wore the life jackets and I don’t remember any of them complaining about it.
They did some diving practice ….
And some flying practice …
The flying is my favorite to watch, although I cringe a lot with some of the height Kevin manages to get with the boys …
They eat it up and beg for more though …
And then comes the snuggling and getting dried off by loved ones …
The boys found a box of toys in the house which included a few costume pieces. Billy and Tommy were particularly taken with the bumble bee costumes.
Around and around they buzzed.
Then Tommy decided to start “stinging” Kevin. The stinging included pounding on Kevin’s leg with a hammer. I guess I should have stopped it, but I was too busy laughing …
