My boys function best with an early bedtime. Even on vacation we aim for no later than 8 pm. At home we shoot for 7:30. The baby is often in bed by 7 pm. Call us crazy, but it works for us. Ricky gets to stay up reading, but he’s in bed and ready to fall asleep. Lights go out for him around 8:30 or 9.
And even if we did a 10 pm bedtime, they’d still be crazy enough to wake up at 6 am. I’m excited when they sleep in … until 7:00! Sigh.
Sometimes we try to get them to crawl into our bed and sleep a little longer. It doesn’t work. At best we get great selfies out of it …
I’m not sure why Billy tolerates Tommy in his bed. I couldn’t sleep like this …
I don’t get to hold the sleeping baby much any more. It is just so sweet …
Again. Why? How?
One evening Billy snuck out of his room to see what Kevin and I were watching on tv. We didn’t care so we didn’t send him back to his room. We should have. Poor boy fell asleep on the stairs!
Even when he doesn’t have sheets on his bed, naps must happen IN his bed … or they don’t happen.
I found this looking at me the other morning when I went in to get Bobby up …
I made Kevin lower the crib mattress before Bobby’s next nap …
There you go.
