One day when the boys were out of school for Fall Break, we took them to the local Corn Maize. They have big slides, a bounce house, a train ride, a wagon ride, a corn pit, plus a couple of mazes (complete with gps tracking so you don’t ever have to really be lost). The boys had a fabulous time!
I think the boys’ favorite part was the giant slide. Up and down, up and down, over and over and over again they went. No fear!
Bobby and I even got in on the action a couple of times … it WAS really fun!
Kevin couldn’t resist either …
While his brothers bounced in the bounce house, Bobby found a cob of corn and wasn’t going to let it go for anything. He ended up eating some of it too. Raw corn … yum!
We started off in Maze 1. We thought we were doing really well and weren’t too worried about the map. Then we started finding skeletons and ropes and pulleys. We realized that we were seeing the spooky stuff that they use when the maze is haunted at night. The boys loved finding the switches and buttons. I thought it was a bit odd that they just left that stuff out during the day for everyone to see…
Then we popped out of the maze and were in the middle of a pumpkin patch. Uh-oh. Our maze was supposed to spit us out by the bounce house. It took us a while but we finally realized that somehow our Maze 1 connected to the Haunted Maze and we weren’t supposed to see all those skeletons and switches. We HAD thought it funny that we were the only people in the maze …
It was a warm day, so we took a drink break and a few silly pictures …
Then we headed back into Maze 2. This time, Kevin followed the map very closely.
And we made it out with only one wrong turn. The boys were very proud of themselves!
And they got rewarded with a train ride. My men are in seats 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7.
The big boys went back to the slides and Bobby and I hung out in the corn pit.
After a baby spends some time in the corn pit, he must be held upside down to get all the kernels out of his overalls…
Our last adventure was the wagon ride. Those were some big horses and a very bumpy ride.
Bobby wasn’t so thrilled with it, but the rest of them had fun.
It was such a nice adventure! I love doing autumn things with the boys!
