We really wanted to take the boys to a football game this year. It was on our Wanna Do List. I really wanted to take them to a BYU game because there is really nothing like it.
However, when the BYU schedule came out – the games were all so late at night. I just couldn’t justify paying that much to drive that far and go to a game when they would really rather be in bed. So I was torn. What to do?
And my solution was right in my face. We live about 20 minutes from Weber State. Pretty much all of their games are in the afternoon. And their tickets are really cheap. Voila! Wanna Do List item, complete.
Kevin took the boys to the WSU Homecoming game. It was quite warm that day, so I kept Bobby home with me. We DID watch the game on TV though. The boys liked the stadium food and the half-time entertainment best. I can’t say I blame them.
Did I mention it was warm? Perhaps hot is a better word. The boys were told they had to tough it out until after half-time. Four minutes into the first quarter, Ricky asked, “Is is almost half-time?” And poor, little Rusty. The sun was TOO much for him. He started to melt …
Despite all that, when they came home, they were so excited to tell me all about it. Billy loved watching Waldo the Wildcat do stunts and they all wanted to know when they could have nachos again!
Another successful adventure.
