Ricky took swimming lessons again this fall. And he’ll take them again this winter.
Passing Level 4 is proving to be a challenge, but Ricky just keeps going. He has improved tremendously and his strength is growing. I quite enjoy watching him swim, so I don’t mind that I get to do it … again.
Sometimes Kevin lets the kids climb into bed with us. I say Kevin because 9 times out of 10, he is who the kids come to in the night. The middle of the night … when he’s the favorite parent … I have NO feelings of jealousy!
Bobby is into EVERYTHING! He is a curious young lad. He likes toys and he makes a mighty fine mess of the toy room daily, but he also enjoys office supplies, remote controls, video game devices and controls, wires and plugs …
He finally started walking on his own the week before Christmas (age 15 1/2 months). This has led to a whole new world of exploration … and mess making.
Sometimes he likes me better. Especially right after Kevin was gone for a week for work. I was the favorite parent. Then Kevin came home.
And two days later, I was low man again.
Some friends invited us over for a Sinterklass Day party. They were surprised to find out that Kevin is actually half Dutch. Perhaps, given his heritage, we should do something for Sinterklass Day … the boys certainly enjoyed the windmill cookies, boterkoek (Dutch butter cake), and stomping around in the wooden shoes!
