Part of the fun of Christmas morning is waiting for everyone to wake up. Of course, waking up is only one part of it. Our boys also have to wait for Grandmama to get here.
They were mostly patient as they waited at the top of the stairs. Christmas morning is exciting enough, but our Christmas morning greeted us with the first real snow of the season! We had a white Christmas!
The boys each got one thing from Santa that they had asked for. And they were all pretty excited about it!
Bobby and Tommy went straight for the candy in their stockings!
Another part of the fun of Christmas morning is trying to get the toys out of the packaging! It seems to get trickier and trickier! You can’t just open a box and have the toys fall out … you need scissors and razor blades and even screwdrivers!
It was a nice Christmas morning. The boys had fun watching their brothers open the presents they had chosen for them and they worked hard to guard their stuff from Bobby!
When the gifts were all opened, we had to clean up. Often we leave the mess around for a day or two, but this year we hosted Christmas dinner for the family, so we needed the family room tidy.
A lot of my family came over and we played some games and ate some good food and just enjoyed the spirit of the day.
Ricky started not feeling too well after dinner. I didn’t realize that that was the beginning of all 7 of us being sick throughout the holiday break! At least we all made it through the actual holiday first!
The boys all wore their new Christmas pajamas that night and gathered their favorite Christmas gift for a “favorite things” picture. Bobby was worn out by the excitement of the day and was already tucked in bed by this time, so I just had the four older ones to try and get to smile all at once.
And hold still for a moment.
Sometimes they can do it, sometimes they can’t.
The next night, despite Ricky feeling awful, we got all 7 of us – mostly unblurry – under the tree.
Merry Christmas (in 11 months) from all of us!
