For the Fourth of July weekend, we wanted to do another family hike. However, with Bobby being against the backpack carrier, I had to find one short enough for him to walk, but interesting enough for the older boys. I found one near the mouth of Ogden Canyon called The Birdsong Trail.
It wasn’t too long or too steep and was mostly shaded. Perfect for hiking with rugrats!
And Bobby could walk it almost completely on his own!
And there was a little bit of water – always an added bonus!
If the big brothers can cross that fallen log, so can Bobby … or so HE thinks.
As we hiked along, Rusty liked pointing out different plants and rocks. At one point he just had to show me a certain plant and said, “They have these in Jurassic Park!”
At another point, Tommy took my hand and said, “THIS is what I call hiking!”
All of my children are observant … Billy pointed at several different piles of sticks and said, “Look at all that beaver damage!”
Our delightful hike was followed by an early lunch at IHop.
And the little one … the one who was determined to walk just like his big brothers … he fell asleep almost immediately after being buckled in the car.
And there you go.
