Here’s where it gets good! In the name of catching up, a bunch of unrelated pictures and thoughts. Ready? Here we go …
Nighttime family prayers. It is so hard to keep your eyes closed with so much cuteness going on …
Baseball season came to an end. Billy, Rusty, and Tommy loved it. It was a lot having them all playing in different leagues, but it was a lot of fun watching all of their games.
The season seemed to end abruptly so we didn’t get a picture of Rusty or Billy’s teams. They even did trophies weird this year. But we don’t play for the trophy or the fancy picture – we play for the boys. Tommy is the far left. Three years of t-ball for him, check. Bobby won’t get to start this next season, so we actually get a t-ball break for a year.
Summertime meant naptime was less consistent. But a little boys get tired and apparently the couch makes a good Bobby Sandwich.
Leftover fish sticks for lunch … kitty thinks he’d like to share.
Our bunnies grew up on us. We also learned that we had not, indeed, adopted 4 girl bunnies. Instead we got 1 girl bunny and 3 boy bunnies. As soon as they were old enough, in July, we had them fixed. No baby bunnies here!
I didn’t get a lot of pictures in June. I’m sure Kevin has more on his phone, but I’ll save those for some other day. I had a hysterectomy on June 9. My sciatic nerve was tangling with my uterus and one of them had to go!
I spent a lot of time on the couch after that. Kevin took good care of me and the boys were troopers since I was on lifting and activity restrictions for 6 weeks. “Ricky, use your muscles for me!” and “Billy, how strong are you?” were common phrases that month.
This little guy had to show me his muscles, too! And what is a mom supposed to do when she’s on restrictions and her son drags the end table upside down to her? Why, take a picture of course!
My school friend came for a visit with her family and we had them over for dinner a few times. The kids broke into the costume box and performed a lovely play for us. I’m not exactly sure what the plot was, but they all had a good time!
My furballs kept me company on the sofa.
And then I was on my own. Kevin and Ricky went to scout camp for a week the end of June. It was such a good experience for both of them. Ricky loved it and wants to work at a scout camp someday. He earned his cooking, environmental science, first aid, and basketry merit badges and accomplished all his first class stuff. Ricky came back so grown up – it was awesome! I love watching him grow up and mature and just become more and more fun!
And it was really nice knowing Kevin was along and would occasionally get cell service to text me that they were doing well and having fun. Pluses all around!
