Ricky and Billy did a theater and swim camp in July. Everyday for a week, they spent 5 hours learning parts and songs for the play “Enchanted” and spent the last hour swimming at a local pool. They went with a couple of friends, so that made it more fun.
It was a camp worth trying once, but I probably won’t be in a hurry to sign the up again. They had a good time, it just didn’t provide the outcome I was looking for.
It did produce a cute play (cute only because I had children in it). A LONG cute-ish play. You can see the whole thing HERE for part one and HERE for part two. (Remember, it is long.)
Ricky played Prince Eric (from “The Little Mermaid”) and Billy was Edward (from “Twilight”) and a bird. A few highlights of the boys are at (part 1) 1:57, 7:48, 19:28, 22:40, 23:53, and 37:05. In part 2, 1:15, 7:10, and 14:40 (the whole “Dancing Queen” song actually).
My absolute favorite though starts at 10:50 in part 2. Pardon the shaky video, I was trying not to laugh out loud! I sure love Billy!
I think my frustration, and Ricky’s, was that he got one line. One line that was a lame joke. It made it hard for him to get into the rest of the play. His friend got the lead and that made it even harder. Ricky does love to perform, but this format did nothing for him. Billy on the other hand …
