Our Easter celebrating started with the family Easter egg hunt after General Conference. It was a couple weeks early, but when the family could get together. 10 kids, hundreds of eggs, one chilly Sunday!
My favorite quote from General Conference…
Bobby was a hoot! He would step over, run past, and plain old ignore all the eggs that weren’t blue. “Blue is my favorite color!” he would explain when I asked why he wasn’t picking up more eggs.
A couple weeks later we were coloring our own eggs for Easter. Bobby was forced to do more than just blue eggs!
This is strictly for historical purposes … I have no problems coloring cracked eggs. They are actually the ones I prefer to eat – I love seeing the color on the actual egg whites! I know, I’m weird, but I’m still lovable!
A dozen eggs for each boy means a LOT of hard boiled eggs!
The Easter morning wait at the top of the stairs before they can look for their basket and the eggs…
Ahh, Easter morn!
We used the matching ties that Aunt Sheri gave us as their Easter outfits this year. Don’t they look dashing?
And then their true selves come out …
We talked a lot about Jesus in the week leading up to the Easter. I love that my boys know and understand so much about that Holy Week.
I hope they recognize my great love for Jesus Christ and my faith and knowledge of his love and his atoning sacrifice.
I hope they grow up and develop that testimony for themselves. I know that true joy comes through faith in Jesus Christ and choosing a life in line with the precepts he taught. True joy comes from that AND from striking funny poses for pictures!
Amen.
