June was full of camps that I was not at to take pictures. Rusty and Tommy had a Nature Center camp, Billy and Rusty had scout day camps, Ricky was gone for a week with Kevin to Scout Camp at Camp Bartlett, and the whole last week of the month, Billy, Rusty, and Tommy were gone for a few hours each day to piano camp!
On an evening walk with Kevin, we enjoyed the view … sunset and llama in one!
Kevin’s work had a volunteer opportunity at the Ragnar race. We got to watch runners come in to our stop, record their time, and watch new runners head out. Our free hats for volunteering were hideous!
The handle on our shower broke right off one day while the water was running. We didn’t want to turn off all the water to the house longer than necessary (it was a Saturday and 7 people needed to use the toilets!), so we rigged up this lovely contraption so the water was filling up the tub instead of just going down the shower drain. Several hours later and a call for plumber, our shower was finally fixed. When the plumber saw it, he even said, “Aw, crap.” It broke real good!
We tried to visit a different park every week all summer with our friends. Rusty is really good with little people. Here he is pushing Zuzu in a swing and he was actually enjoying it – despite what his face looks like! It was just a really hot day.
We did Lagoon a few times in June. This particular ride sprays you with water and Ricky and Billy were having fun…
These two won’t fit the kiddie rides for much longer!
It is kind of fun to play with my boys!
Baseball season ended. That’s always bittersweet – I do love watching them play, but I’m happy to claim back several nights of our week! Here are Rusty and Tommy with our friend Mason.
Aren’t they cute?
For one of our park trips, we did a bicycle parade. The kids all decorated their bikes and rode around the park path. Bobby totally got into it!
This is probably the littlest ride at Lagoon and this will probably be the one and only time Bobby ever rides is.
On hot days…
you finish your time at Lagoon by playing in the fountain!
Rusty and I opted to stay dry!
Kevin would occasionally hike out to the road while at Scout Camp to send me pictures like this one…
Billy’s baseball team made it to the championship playoffs. The top West Haven teams played the top Roy teams. The first game, Billy’s team skunked them. The second game wasn’t so fast or easy! It lasted about 3 hours and involved a lot of yelling and commotion that led to the opposing team’s coach being physically removed from the park! Billy’s team squeaked out the win. For the final championship game, it was a landslide win for Billy’s team!
He was SOOO excited to be on the winning team!
Billy usually played 2nd base or center field. His batting improved throughout the season. I really like watching him play! The weather was bi-polar. We had the freezing cold, numb toe games to the drenched in sweat and begging for more water hot games.
Piano camp ended with a patriotic recital in the teacher’s backyard.
From the back it is sometimes hard to tell these two apart, but the picture above is Rusty and below is Tommy.
Billy always plays with pizzazz!
Here is the final musical cups number that all the students did … HERE.
