December 2017 Catch Up Part 1

In an effort to make more room for upcoming Christmas toys, we did a deep clean of the toy room.  We thought about moving this train set along … until it became the only thing they played with for a week.  Sigh.

Cooler temps mean snuggly blankets and snuggly pals.

Billy, Rusty, and Tommy had a piano recital at the beginning of the month.  Their teacher works them hard and they do so well!

Decorating the Christmas tree … the boys are getting taller and can reach almost the top!  Soon I may have to hand the whole job over to them!

Kevin’s work party is always good for a laugh or two.  We had to pose for a picture with this year’s ugly sweater winner!

For our ward Christmas party, I was asked to arrange a living nativity.  I chose who to ask to participate and decided to ask those who aren’t often in the spotlight.  My favorite choices were the wise men.  Ricky was one, but so was his friend Tyler, who is in the wheel chair.  It was incredibly touching when the wise men came onto stage!

Our Tractor Santa parade seemed to take forever to get to us this year, but it didn’t disappoint once it arrived.

The boys were good sports about the cold!

Don’t let Ricky’s scowl fool you!  He likes this parade as much as anybody – he just might not like getting his picture taken with all the “little” kids!

I got to tag along on Bobby’s preschool field trip to Ogden’s Christmas village. (he’s in the red hat)

Here is Bobby with Mrs. Claus!

We got to see little village displays, peak in workshop windows, and ride a miniature train …

I told Bobby that Mrs. Claus was in charge and he needed to listen to what she said.  From that point on, he held HER hand and I meant nothing!  Hahaha I need to watch what I say to that one!

We even got to warm up and listen to a story from Mrs. Claus.  Such a fun little trip!

December is also the time for concerts.  Ricky was in the Advanced Choir at the junior high this year …

And Rusty and Billy were in their school choir as well.

They both say they enjoy choir, but I shared a short clip on my Instagram of how differently they enjoy it!  Billy was bee-bopping along and Rusty barely moved to clap his fingers together!  hahaha

Choir is good for them!  And the shows are always fun to watch.

We got a little bit of snow mid-December and Billy was ready to create a snowman … even if it was only 18 inches tall!
