More from November …
Our Primary Program was uneventful in comparison to other years. The boys all had their parts memorized, yet chose to read them. Bobby spoke nice and loudly into the microphone. We could pick out Billy and Tommy singing, but nothing too loud.
The laughing tears came at the very last song. All the kids got sticks with CTR shields on them to wave like they were leading the song. Bobby’s class was right at the front and he was totally getting into his shield waving. So much so that finally his shield flew right off the stick and sailed out into the pews. Bobby’s stick froze, his face froze, and he just stared. Then his face fell and his eyebrows furrowed. He looked madly at that shield that scorned him so! When he realized his dirty look wasn’t going to bring the shield back, his face changed to sad and fell even further until finally by the end of the song, he had his head in his hand and a big old frown on his face. It was just so comical to this momma! I probably should have felt bad for my little boy, but the story that crossed his face with those looks was priceless!
Bobby just loves our Hunter cat. He loves him so much so that he wrote his own song to sing for him. It went something like “kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty.” I know. Pure talent. Not only did he sing AND strum the guitar, but this boy genius also marched in place. We are just waiting for the talent scouts … (you can see the video on my Instagram account).
We had most of my family over for Thanksgiving dinner. It is always nice to visit and spend time with family.
One of my fondest childhood memories is wrestling matches. We were big fans of the WWF and Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant and Rowdy Roddy Piper. The couch served as the ropes to bounce off and a great place to body slam. When my brother Dan started wrestling with my boys after the turkey dinner, it brought a smile to my face.
We don’t have the wrestling matches with the boys like I had, but they caught on quite fast and even ganged up on Uncle Dan!
We don’t go out to eat as a whole family very often, but when we do, the boys almost always choose Pizza Pie Cafe. Its a pizza/pasta buffet and they eat their money’s worth! Bobby likes that he can get a whole plate of just pepperoni and olives from the salad bar and Momma doesn’t get after him!
He likes the pepperoni on pizza as well!
Everybody finds something they like here! Included big plates of cottage cheese. Kevin tries not to look when the boys come back with a big plate of cottage cheese – but they love it!
We had a pretty mellow Thanksgiving break this year. Other than the family dinner, the weekend included a lot of games and lounging around time. No complaints here!
There you go.
