May 2018

I had a tight deadline when I made all these scrapbook pages.  Proofreading had to be skipped.  Unfortunately, I’m finding a lot of typos, so I’m doing my best to correct them in the information I’m putting here on the blog.

May 4-5, 2018 — Camping with our friends, the Bucks, is always fun and our adventure to Antelope Island was nearly perfect.  The weather was delightful.  The sunset amazing! The campground was clean and was perfect for the kids to roam and explore yet we could easily see them.  The historic ranch was entertaining and educational and I love the wooded area by the old house.  I could stay there for hours while the boys walk on logs and look for bugs.

The only downside to this trip was … the biting gnats!  These were NOT your ordinary “bike bugs.”  These swarms bit and chewed and were everywhere!  The head nets only helped a little.

Tommy turned 8!

Mother’s day

  • May piano recital with Kathy Malone
  • Bobby being included in Rusty’s kickball game – it was so sweet when they let him pitch
  • Baseball season started – Billy, Rusty, & Tommy each played on a different team
  • Billy competed in the school district Iron Kid competition
  • Ricky got an honors award for the second year – good grades and participating in track
  • We had a flat basketball so the boys had Kevin cut it open and Rusty tried it on
  • Bobby was very proud of his new Batman shoes

End of school year choir concerts.  Billy’s 5th grade patriotic program was very touching.  Billy and Rusty sang with the elementary school choir.  And Ricky finished his second year with Mr. Saunders in the Rocky Mountain Junior High choir.

Park day with the 2nd grade … Mrs. Liechty is always up for a water fight!  Tommy loved having her as his teacher.

My 6th Field Day.  I love this day so much!! Mrs. Porter started an excellent water fight – Ricky and Billy were lucky to have her before she transferred schools.

I taught Billy’s class the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids and the last lesson the class was very disrespectful so I left early.  I got a stack of apologies notes from all the kids and this one cracked me up.

Brother hugs are the best!

First Pack Meeting for Rusty and Tommy together.

Last day of 8th grade for Ricky, 5th grade for Billy, 3rd grade for Rusty, and 2nd grade for Tommy.

Memorial Day Weekend 2018

We started the weekend at eh Bees Baseball game with Kevin’s work.

We visited my dad’s headstone at the cemetery.

We had an end of school BBQ with our friends at the Buck’s.  It got chilly and Tommy and Mason shared a blanket.

On Memorial Day, Shelly and her kids came over for lunch.  Our trampoline was better than any picnic table.
