December 2018 Post author By Cindy Post date September 14, 2021 Freddy the bunny suffered from a rabbit ailment called “poopy bum.” His excrement collected in his fur and needed to be cleaned up. He got to take a sitz bat, get some fun trimmed, and spend the night thoroughly drying in the house. Considering it was his first ever bath, Fred handled it quite well. Ricky had a Christmas choir concert with Walquist Junior High and Fremont High School. He is in Concert Choir at Rocky Mountain Junior High. * Productivity sometimes takes the back seat to a 5 year old’s snuggles. * The three cats can’t resist a Christmas tree or a lit fireplace. All 3 cats on the couch at once is a rarity. * Waking up to this face is not a rarity. * Ricky’s school choir concert with nice close seats. * Bobby and Hunter enjoying nce close seats to the fire. Christmas piano recital for Billy, Rusty, and Tommy with teacher Kathy Malone. Little Monkeys Preschool field trip to the Ogden Christmas Village with Bobby. Ward Christmas party Billy, Rusty, and Tommy sang in the school choir led by Mr. Claycomb. Tommy sang the next day in a 3rd grade program led by Becca Buck. As Tommy’s Room Mom, I helped put together a month of service projects for his class that culminated in a blanket tying, candy cane distributing, cookie decorating party! We also sent letters to military, decorated placemats for the homeless shelter, and gave 25 blankets to Project Linus. You’re a mean one, Dr. Grinch! Ricky played “Dr. Grinch” in his theater class’s spoof of Dr. Phil. He was absolutely fantastic and so funny! Our 3rd annual Neighborhood Nativity. I didn’t want to do it thiis year but the boys told me that we needed some extra joy, so the show went on. The Farnsworths had a bunch of puppies so I rewrote the script to include some boys holding puppies while being read to by their mother. It turned out pretty cute and the puppies stole the show. Heaven sent blessings and kept the pouring rain away until just after we finished. The Tractor Santa Parade goes right through our neighborhood! We hung out at the Buck’s as we waited an extra hour for Santa this year. He’s become so popular that it took a long time to get to us! The kids like playing winter night games with their friends almost as much as getting candy from Santa. Olds Familly Christmas Party * It was a bit subdued this year without Aunt Nancy but we exchanged gifts, played Kahoot!, ate good food, and wore holiday socks. Making gingerbread houses. Becca Buck knew it had been a rough couple of weeks, so she sent over the houses and supples for my boys to have some fun. Bless her! A delightful snowy Christmas Eve meant a giant snowman, a snow rabbit, a snow fort, and a real bunny hanging out in the fort! The boys waited at the top of the stairs for Grandmama to come over and for permission to come downstairs. Then Christmas morning could finally happen! Toys and books and games and clothes and laughter and love! Grandmama, Aunt Suzy, and Uncle John came over for a simple Christmas lunch. We played some spoons and some video games, built some Legos, and enjoyed time with family. My favorite things! Because we hadn’t already had enough family time, on New Year’s Eve, Mom, Suzy, and John came over for snacks and games. We played “Oh Heck” with some shiny gold cards that Mom had. They were so slippery that they were hard to shuffle and I kept sending them flying. Suzy thought it was hysterical. I was not as amused. Aunt Nancy had been declining in strength since Halloween A couple of trips to the ER for pain resulted in her just being sent home. The morning of December 12, Melissa from downstairs found her unresponsive and Aunt Nancy was taken to Ogden Regional. They operated on ruptured bowels but she never regained consciousness. When the therapy dogs came to visit and she still didn’t wake up, I knew she was tired of the fight. We turned off life support on Saturday, December 15 and our beloved Aunt Snazz passed away within minutes. Aunt Nancy’s funeral was held at Lindquist Mortuary in Roy. I spoke as did my cousins, Russ and Mary. She is buried in the West Point Cemetery. It was a sad day, but nice to celebrate her life and her influence on all of us. She’s left a big hole in my heart. 5 of my 7 cousins came for the funeral and it was nice reconnecting with them over those few days … My little family squeezed in some winter break celebrating with a night sleeping under the tree and going to the lights in Willard … We also started packing Aunt Nancy’s house. So hard, but Bobby likes the trunk I brought home.
