The preschool where I send the boys, always does a little costume parade for Halloween. The parents line the street as the preschoolers come out, walk in front of 2 or 3 houses, cross the street, and come back. It is short and sweet and adorable.
Tommy was dead set on being a frog for Halloween this year. I did my best and I think he turned out pretty dang cute!
The elementary school hasn’t done a costume parade before. But this year, a persuasive friend of mine organized one and it was wonderful! I know my boys were excited to show off their costumes and, as a mom, it was lots of fun to watch.
The school costume parade wasn’t okay’d until the week before Halloween, so I had to make few adjustments to Ricky’s costume. He wanted to be Cousin Itt from the “Addam’s Family” but he couldn’t have his face covered at the school. Twisty ties were our friends! Billy chose to be a purple Minion from “Despicable Me 2” and Rusty wanted to be a very plain dinosaur. No spots, stripes, face paint, nothing. Just a cute little dinosaur. Okay, son.
The parade was first thing in the morning. Since Rusty goes to kindergarten in the afternoon, I brought him along to parade with Billy (his first choice was to walk with Cousin Itt, but since Cousin Itt doesn’t have any hands to hold, he was happy to go with Billy).
I love Halloween!
