After all the sickness and grossness that was our holiday break, the boys needed an adventure! So the next day off from school, everyone was pretty much healthy, and we went to the zoo!
We don’t go to the zoo very often. I think the last time we went, Tommy wasn’t yet one. So this was a new experience for pretty much everyone!
Bobby loved the seal and sea lion exhibit … they swam right past him which made it easy for him to see them. I think he thought the elephants and sleeping lions were just rocks.
Rusty got incredibly excited at the bat exhibit.
He’s recently declared that bats are his favorite animals, so to see a swarm of them was really cool!
Bobby also got pretty excited at this exhibit of small cats. I don’t remember what kind they were, only that Bobby squealed “kitty! kitty! kitty!” over and over as he pounded on the glass!
The day was delightful weather-wise. It was chilly, but not cold. That meant that we were not freezing yet the zoo wasn’t the least bit crowded.
The biggest crowd was at the carousel. (Hi, Billy in the background!)
It was just a nice day away from the house of sick that we’d been surviving for so long!
After the zoo, we treated the boys to an early dinner at Red Robin. All in all, a pretty near perfect day!
