There was a daddy duck, a mommy duck, and a baby duck

On Sunday, Uncle Tim told Ricky a joke about a family of tomatoes taking a walk.  Tim was sitting in a chair and held Ricky’s hands while he told the joke.  After Tim finished and Ricky did his courtesy laugh (because he really didn’t get it–which we quickly learned), he told Tim that he wanted to tell him a joke.  Ricky then made Tim stand up so Ricky could sit in the chair and they had to hold hands . . .

Once they were in position, Ricky told the joke.  “There was a poppy potato, a momma potato, and a baby potato walking along.  The baby potato was slow so the poppy potato went back to him, stepped on him and said, ‘ketchup!'”  Then he laughed and laughed.  We were all laughing too since him changing it to potato confirmed that he didn’t get the joke.  A few moments later when he told Uncle Tim the joke again but changed it to a family of ducks, we weren’t just laughing, the tears were flowing!

Even typing about that joke makes me grin and start chuckling.

The boys were playing with this megaphone that Grandmama had and Uncle Tim found a different use for it.  Rusty was a good sport . . .

but only for so long.

Rusty is wearing “baby legs.”  They are similar to leg warmers and kind of goofy but very handy for showing off the cute onesies that don’t work with pants so swell.  He is such an easy going baby and he enjoys being held every which way!

I was wondering if those were baby legs when I saw the first megaphone picture. I saw them on babysteals recently and wondered if they really worked or not. It seemed they would slide down too easily.
