Helping himself

As I sat in my front room working on a future blog post (Thanksgiving will be posted, someday), I heard the sound of Rusty drinking in the kitchen.   At first, I didn’t think anything of it … kids drink.  Then I realized that I hadn’t given him a sippy cup any time recently so I went to investigate.

Rusty was help himself to a drink.  Admirable to be so independent at 22 months, right?

He was drinking from a juice box holder (it has handles so that little ones can drink their juice without squeezing the box).  Okay.  That looks like a cup to him and he uses it to drink.  Good thinker.

He was standing on the kitchen stool at the sink.  Such a bright boy to know that that is where I get him water for his cups.

He can’t reach the faucet yet though, so where was he getting his water?

Rusty was dipping his juice box holder into the tupperware bowl that was soaking in the sink.  Yes, his choice of drink was really watered down bits of leftovers from his dad’s lunch yesterday.  Yummy.
