I Love to See the Temple

The temple closest to our home is the Ogden Temple.   Kevin and I have gone there frequently.  It is the temple I attended as a teen to do baptisms for the dead.  There is a Tabernacle on site that we go to for Stake Conferences.  The boys know it is our temple.

Our temple is going to be torn down.  It is being called a “renovation” but our neighbor is in the temple presidency and explained how it is pretty much going to be taken down to the foundation and then rebuilt.  It is sad but exciting as well.  The temple will be closed for a couple of years while all this happens.

To help the boys remember what the temple used to look like, Kevin and I drove over one day last week and let them explore the temple grounds.  We took some pictures.

The Tabernacle will get a face-lift as well, but will essentially look the same, minus the steeple.

“Hey, Rusty, do you see the steeple?”

Ricky was very concerned about the fountains.  That is his favorite part of the temple grounds.  I assured him that there would be some sort of fountain when the temple was rebuilt and then he was okay again.

Temples are important to us and the boys know it.  That’s kind of cool.

Hey. I remembered my password so I can comment!!!
I love this post. (I love all your posts but in particular this one). In a couple years when you take your boys back (and your little girl 😉 and take pictures again, you won’t believe how much they’ve grown and that is such a fun thing to see.
I sure love to blog watch your life. You are a great mom and a great person.

By the way, I will always be grateful for you and Kevin watching John and Emily a long time ago so we could go on a date. And I bought a ton of 90% off stickers on that date. I’ll never forget it because it meant so much to us at that time in our lives. Thank you!!!!

You are good friends. You were always so good to us. If I could go back, I would not leave Wymount. I would have stayed longer.
