On Memorial Day we went for our second hike of the season. We took the boys up Waterfall Canyon in Ogden.
It is a relatively easy and quick hike. I’ve done it many times as a youth and as an adult and I’ve never seen it as crowded as it was that morning! We actually came to a standstill at one point where no one could move up or down the trail because of so many people. It didn’t feel quite so much like a quiet walk in the woods, but it was still lots of fun.
The boys like to pick up sticks and rocks. I like to tell the boys to put the sticks and rocks down.
They were very impressed at the top with how big the waterfall was. It wasn’t what they expected, but the mist made it nice and cool. I didn’t enjoy the top so much because I was fearing for my children’s life. It was just so crowded and the places that were open, weren’t all that flat!
Bobby wasn’t a big fan of the back pack. Especially on the way down. He was done.
Overall, it was a great morning (it took us about 3 hours to hike up and down and picnic at the top). I’d do it again. Perhaps not on Memorial Day weekend though …
Later that day, we stopped by to visit Dad’s headstone. One of these times we need to do it when the sun isn’t beating down on the boys’ faces …
