"Please, may I want a cookie?"

We’ve been trying to teach Ricky to have manners.  Kevin has been teaching him how to correctly ask a question instead of just say “I want . . . ” This backfired the other day when Ricky asked for a cookie, “Please, may I want a cookie?”

Yesterday I finally witnessed Billy going from his tummy to his bum all by himself.  The boy is cruising around the sides of his playpen and the furniture, but not crawling on his hands and knees (he pulls himself along with his arms and pushes with his toes) and rarely sitting himself up.  I think he’s going to do things throughout life on his own agenda . . .

We spent Christmas Day at Grandmama’s home with tons of family around.  The boys handled the chaos great and had a fantastic day.

Ricky has learned the fun of having your toys “talk” to you and these puppets had quite the conversation.

Can’t say that I was thrilled to have Aunt Suzy give the boys these Dora the Explorer toys, but Ricky just loves them.  Go figure.

Here is just a small sampling of the crowd at my mom’s house.  I think we counted 23 people there that day.

All the grandkids.  Aunt Kym added two new ones to our count.  From left to right:  Shaelynn, Billy, Stephanie, Ricky, Andrew, Talon, Skyler, Danny, and Melissa.  There were 4 different cameras all snapping at once–that is why they are all looking different directions!

We took this picture of the boys in their new pjs and with a few of their favorite presents.  My mom used to gather us to do it on Christmas night and I liked the idea of continuing. (The gate usually just surrounds the stove and hearth, but Kevin reconfigured it to include the tree.  This year it mostly just deterred the cats from chewing on the branches.)
