It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

This week we had our church Christmas party with a visit from Santa.  Ricky was very excited to see him . . . Billy not so much.  These pictures show why Kevin gets the opportunity to stand in line to see Santa and I sit on the sides laughing with my camera.

Ricky didn’t speak very loudly while he was on Santa’s lap, but he did tell him that he wanted a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (which he’s been asking for since the day after his birthday in July), a Backyardigans circus, and a big dump truck (both toys that Cousin Danny got for his birthday a few weeks ago).  Santa asked him if he listened to his mom and Ricky told him that he does most of the time.   Santa then told him that little boys who don’t listen to their moms get Barbie underwear for Christmas.  I should have taken a picture of the grin that broke out on Ricky’s face!  He thought that was the funniest thing he’d heard.

Billy thought 5 seconds was more than enough time on this guy’s lap.

I did most of my Christmas decorating today.  Ricky was so excited to see the tree and all the other decorations around the house (I did most of it during nap time and while he was gone to the barber with Grandmama this morning).   I have collected a lot of non-breakable Christmas decorations over the years and these are within the boys’ reach.   Both of them have enjoyed them already.

Ricky had a whole storyline going with Santa flying off in his sleigh and the reindeer getting lost . . . I’m not really sure how the story went, but it was fun to watch.

Billy was drawn to this plastic Precious Moments Nativity–even though it was the most difficult to reach.  He took the pieces to the steps and had a good time making the people and animals talk.

Kevin’s favorite new word of Billy’s is “tay” as “okay.”   Kevin will end most any sentence with “ok?” just in hopes that the little one will respond with “tay.”  It is pretty dang cute!
