It is too cold to go swimming

As is typical on Sundays, we went to my mom’s for dinner today.  A few years ago, my mom had a sunroom built on the back of her home.   It is a nice big room that the whole family fits in for dinner and visiting.  It is also a great playroom for the boys, with plenty of room for pretend.  However, it is not heated or cooled.  In the summer we use a fan and in the winter a space heater, but it can be quite chilly out there on a day like today.  Why the thorough description?  Well, Ricky headed out to play in the sunroom after dinner.  He came to find us a bit later and tell us about his swimming pool.  He was pretending that the floor was his swimming pool and these carpet squares (like carpet stores have on display) were his lily pads.  We thought it was great and cute and were pleased he was busy.   Kevin, my mom, and I were sitting around visiting a while later when here comes Ricky – stark naked!   Kevin, in his ever patient voice, said, “Ricky!  What are you doing?”  Ricky explained very matter of factly that he was swimming and he didn’t have his swimming suit so this is what you wear to go swimming!  My mom and I were trying very hard not to laugh out loud.  Then Kevin noticed that Ricky’s back was reddish and it turns out that when you go skinning dipping in your imaginary pool in Grandmama’s sunroom when the temperature outside is below freezing, you need to sit very close to the space heater to stay somewhat warm and that is why his back was so red.  He just kills me sometimes!
