Uh-oh, Poppy, Dusty Crying!

Billy has been working on talking in sentences for a while now. He will put words together in phrases. Sometimes he will just say words in the wrong order. Sometimes he will say one word at a time, thinking between each word, and if you listen long enough you might get a full sentence.

For example, I’ll be changing him into his pajamas and he will see Ricky’s Cars underwear. He will point at them and say,

“Mater! … Tractor! … Tipping! … … Mater, tractor tipping!!”

Some examples of talking in phrases:

“Jacket! Me do it!”

“Socks! Don’t wan’ em!”

“Made it!” (when we get to Grandma’s house)

“Working!” (okay that’s not a phrase, but he says it a lot when he gets something working)

And an example of just words slightly out of order,

“Sand, hair, Ricky do it!”

So that takes me back to the subject line, which is the first sentence I have heard Billy say with no pauses and in the right order. Of course, there is an implied “is” in there, but good enough in my book! And if you didn’t figure it out, Dusty is the way Billy says Rusty.
