Halloween 2009

I seriously love Halloween.  I love seeing my boys so excited as I make their costumes and each piece gets finished.  I love their expressions the first time Kevin and I put on our costumes — Rusty wasn’t quite sure who I was at first and this year my costume was mild!  I love hearing an excited 2 year old yell “trick or treat!”  I loved that my baby fell asleep in the stroller as Kevin took the boys around trunk-or-treating last night.  I love the joy in a 5 year old’s eyes when his pumpkin suddenly becomes a Jack-o-lantern.  I love donuts and apple cider.  I love the smiles of adoration when people look at my dang cute boys!  How could I NOT love this holiday?!  And, really, could they be any cuter?

And lastly, one of the cutest puppies ever!

The costumes were all newly made this year, except Rusty’s puppy one.  Billy wore it two years ago and it was too cute to not reuse.

The big boys and I carved pumpkins earlier in the day.  They had to scoop out the guts and then they drew a face on their pumpkin for me to carve.

Billy’s idea of scooping out the goop was to pick out individual pumpkin seeds one at a time.

Following Billy’s squiggly scribbled pumpkin face was tricky, but I think I got the jist of what they both were hoping for in their jack-o-lanterns.
