He had a birthday, shout hooray!

Weighing in at 20 pounds 11 ounces and stretching to 29 inches long, Rusty turned one. (His cake has 5 candles … the big boys wanted to blow one out too, so I just balanced it all out to look prettier)

We just had a small family celebration last night–our family of 5 plus Grandmama and Aunt Nancy.   The festivities included a spaghetti dinner (no meal time whining with that one) and some scrumptious cupcakes!  The big cupcakes are about twice the size of a regular cupcake — and Rusty ate most of it!

After sitting the birthday boy in a sink fully dressed (it is amazing how messy spaghetti and chocolate cake are), we opened a few gifts.

Ricky was adamant that he and Billy had to help Rusty because Rusty wouldn’t know how to unwrap the gifts.

Rusty proved him wrong and was quite pleased with himself for ripping the paper off!

I’m not sure when my baby grew up …

There was some pre-dinner fun, too.  There was frosting leftover from the cupcakes, so I let the big boys frost graham crackers.

Ricky had a system going and Billy was just trying his best …

… when he decided to skip the graham crackers and just eat the frosting straight from the bowl!

He wasn’t a whole lot cleaner than Rusty when he ate his cupcake after dinner either!

Aunt Nancy brought Rusty a bouquet of birthday balloons and that baby’s eyes were delighted!

Of course, it also delighted his big brothers who we had to fight off the balloons every two seconds just so Rusty could have a turn!

Happy birthday, baby boy #3!
