Rusty's New Things

This week Rusty learned to communicate his wishes with more than just squeals and cries.  Now he points.  And if it isn’t the dang cutest thing ever!  That little pointer finger just sticks right out at what he wants and if we don’t immediately catch on, there might be a whimper or two to go with it.  Rusty wants his Baby from the floor?  He points.  Rusty wants pizza like the big boys are eating?  He points and whimpers (because we most likely won’t catch that one).  Rusty wants to pet a cat?  He points and giggles (because he knows the cat won’t like that).  Here he is pointing when I asked “Rusty, where’s the kitty?” (don’t mind the nudity … it is better to give him breakfast before putting him in his church clothes)

Rusty is getting so close to walking (I may be saying that for the next 2 months, who knows).  His newest method of walking involves our kitchen stool.  The stool is used mostly by the big boys to wash their hands and get a drink from the sink.  Rusty, however, walks around the kitchen sliding it along like a little walker.  And, as shown by the picture, occasionally uses it as a table for those yummy goldfish crackers as well.

His other new trick is clicking his tongue.  Since I don’t think Ricky has even mastered this skill yet, this is a biggie for Rusty.  He also thinks it is very funny to mimic you if you click your own.  Click, click from you results in a slobbery click, click from him (he still drools).  Next thing you know he’ll be memorizing the Gettysburg Address … my baby is getting so big!
