Birthday Week, Day 3 – Bowling

We went bowling last Monday.  Kevin’s sisters had to return home but didn’t need to leave until the afternoon, so we spent the morning knocking down some pins – or at least trying to.

Are these not the cutest pair of bowling shoes ever?  (I’m referring to the little ones)

Ricky was fascinated with the arcade games in the far corner, but Billy was ready to take his bowling seriously.

You must always warm up before beginning your game (at least I hope that is what they were doing).

The boys played on a lane with bumpers and didn’t do too shabby.

I let Rusty take my turn every once in a while.   He fully understood that he had to roll the ball down the lane and if I wasn’t quick enough, we had a long wait while that ball rolled and rolled and rolled.   Rusty was more concerned with form than speed!  And if you didn’t grab Rusty immediately after rolling the bowling ball, he’d be half-way down the lane following it!

Kevin got confused a time or two and thought Ricky was his ball …

Even as exciting as our games were (I think the high score was near 120), they just didn’t hold Billy’s interest …

So I bought the boys some fries.  Now, these fries came with fry sauce and I thought it was time to teach Ricky about the dreaded double dip.  He didn’t look like he liked the idea, but he complied.  When I next checked on him, he had a row of french fries lined up on his napkin.  Each one had been dipped once in the fry sauce and then had the sauce sucked off of it.  I don’t think there was a tooth mark on the bunch!  That is until Billy ran out of fries and started swiping Ricky’s sucked on ones when his back was turned.  When Billy ran out of those, the boy just dipped his finger in and sucked the sauce off of that.  I did stop him from licking the fry sauce right out of the cup … that was just going too far!

We tried to get a picture of all 4 boys (Tommy slept through the whole adventure) with Grandma Jeanne.  This is the best picture we got.  See how everyone is smiling and happy…

We accept and appreciate pictures like that, even if everyone isn’t looking the same direction because most of the time pictures of our boys turn out more like this …

It was a short visit with Aunt Wendi and Aunt Sheri, but we sure are glad they came!
