The Fourth on the Third

We enjoyed the celebrations of Independence Day on the third of July.  We met up with Grandmama and Aunt Nancy for the West Point parade early that morning.

After an incredibly hot week, that morning was chilly. The boys waited in the sunshine with Uncle Tony for the parade to make its way to us.

A parade is always more fun with kids.  Where we sit is towards the end of the parade and there aren’t a lot of people around us, so the paraders (is that a word) see these cute little boys waving and clapping and they unload handfuls of candy at us.  Aunt Nancy got beamed pretty good on the head with some taffy and Kevin deflected a Now and Later from hitting Rusty that made his hand smart!  Perhaps next year we should wear helmets.  And I didn’t get a picture, but Rusty clapping for candy was just too cute!

There were all sorts of activities set up at the park.  While Tommy and I tried our hand at Bingo, Kevin took the boys exploring.  They found a snake exhibit …

And a bounce-house challenge course to wait in line for …

Billy was finally big enough to do it this year, and do it he did …

Even Ricky was proud of Billy for making it to the end!
