Earlier this year, we made a set of House Rules (also mentioned here) as a family. I even went so far as to make a cutesy version to hang on our wall as a reminder.
Every so often, I rattle off the first few words of a House Rule and the boys finish the phrase. I think of it as a game (I’m easily entertained). Tonight after dinner, I was drilling Billy. It went something like this:
Me: Billy, you can do …
Billy: Hard fings!
Me: Only look at …
Billy: Decorations!
Me: Clean up …
Billy: Toys!
Me: Close. Clean up after yourself. How about quiet at …
Billy: Nap time!
Me: Use the …
Billy: toilet!
Maybe we are closer to being fully potty trained than I thought!
