The Last of the Halloweening

Last week I was able to help with Billy’s preschool Halloween party.  He was very excited to wear his costume.  Billy wasn’t just a clown.  No, he was a ghost clown.  That way he could be spooky.

The party started with a little neighborhood parade.  (The little Darth Vader Billy is holding hands with is Kaycee.)

They heard a spooky Halloween story.

They played some Halloween games.

And decorated and ate some Halloween cookies.

It was fun for me to see Billy in his class.  The children are all his same age (they will all start kindergarten the same year) and, even though you aren’t supposed to, it is fun to see how Billy compares.  I could tell that he is very caring towards his classmates and pretty comparable with his skills.  During Sharing Time, instead of a rambling, nonsense story like most of the others shared, Billy shared a joke:  Why did the pumpkin cross the road?  ‘Cuz that’s where his field was!  He thought it was hysterical.  His teacher gave him a courtesy laugh.

Last Friday Kevin dressed up for work, so I dressed the boys up and took them to show off.  (Kevin won second place in the costume contest, by the way.  The winner had actually shaved his hair into a mowhawk – Kevin just wore a shoebox and paper mache.)

Counting kids?  Yeah, our Rusty-Cow is in the background on that one.  He’s out grazing in the field – har har har.

I like taking the boys to Kevin’s work.  Everyone there thinks they are adorable on a regular day, but dress them up and the Oooo’s and Awww’s make this Momma proud!

All holidays are nice, but I really enjoy Halloween.

And this year’s was one of the best!
