Christmas 2010

Christmas with boys is awesome.  The big boys slept in until 7:30 and we had to wake Rusty up to join the fun.  A moment’s pause on the top steps for a picture (Grandmama was holding Tommy)…

Christmas seemed to be mostly about trains this year … Thomas, Geo-Trax, Fisher Price … Choo-choo’s up the wha-zoo!

The boys didn’t ask for much.  The big boys each asked for a toy and then a bunch of books.  Billy wanted a Thomas train and Ricky asked for a balance ball of his own (like people use for exercising).  I had to tell him on Christmas morning how Santa had sent me a message that he was working on the ball, but didn’t have it yet (darn UPS).  Ricky was totally ok with that and seemed to enjoy his other toys.  Books were plentiful though, just as requested.

Grandpa Brent sent a cool wooden rocking chair for the boys.  They did some rockin’.

Ricky had requested a new “Skippyjon Jones” book.  It is a series about a Siamese cat with an alter ego as a Zorro-type chihuahua.  (Ask Ricky about it sometime – I’m sure he would love to have you read one of the books to him!)  Since the author hasn’t written any new books, Santa sent Ricky a Skippyjon puppet.  Santa scored!

By the end, Tommy was wondering what all the fuss was about (notice the drool?).

The boys played and played for the next few hours and we enjoyed watching them.  It was an excellent way to spend the morning.  Then over to Grandmama’s for some family time.  We saw some family on Christmas day and others on Sunday.  So much love and family for my boys to enjoy!

Cate is actually playing very nicely with Tommy here, even though it looks like she just took away all of his toys.  Why would my son be playing with squeaky dog bones anyway.  I’m sure they are playing nicely.  Yeah.

Everyone was busy visiting on Sunday and didn’t notice that Rusty was helping himself to a present.  Amazingly, the present he was helping himself to was, in fact, for him!

Rusty had a hide-and-seek game with himself.  Can you find where he hid?

Uncle Tim and Aunt Kym added even more to the boys’ train collection.  It has kept my family room very entertained for days now.

It was a really good holiday.  The boys and I had practiced gracious gift receiving for a few days before Christmas and each time I heard Ricky come up with something he liked about a present as soon as he opened it, my heart was proud.  I have great boys.  They are my favorites.
