Easter, take 2

We colored Easter Eggs the Friday evening before Easter.  I divided all the colors up so each boy got their own muffin tin of colors to do with as they pleased.

They were thrilled to not have to share!

I was thrilled with how little mess there was!

Rusty was thrilled to get to participate this year!  Although it made Kevin cringe to be Rusty’s helper.  Rusty was all about cramming those eggs into the colors.  We often do two deep in the color, but when Rusty put two eggs in the same color … you could hear the crunching.  A few eggs were sacrificed in the name of fun.

Ricky was very thoughtful about his eggs.  He wanted them colored just right.

Rusty didn’t mind splashing.  Delicacy was not a concern.

Billy nursed the same 6 or 7 eggs the entire time.  He just kept moving them from one color to the next and spooning different colors over the top.  His eggs were in the color so long that the shells were starting to disintegrate … at least I think that is why there are white splotches on his eggs.  They looked cool, sort of camouflage-like, but they felt really weird until they dried all the way.

On Saturday morning, Kevin took Ricky and Billy to the city park for an egg hunt. There were kids galore and parents plotting which eggs their kids should go for first.  Kevin just told the boys to be nice, find what they could, and have fun.

Those are our boys with the reusable shopping bags and hoodies on their head.

The boys each got some candy and an egg or two.  Ricky won a cookie, which he shared with Billy (after only a bit of persuasion).

It was a bit chilly and did I mention there were a gazillion kids there?

There were so many kids that instead of standing in line to say hello to Peter Rabbit and the Missus, they opted to have their picture taken with them from afar.  It works for me.
