My littles haven’t fallen asleep in random places like Ricky did.
Ricky was never good at sleeping at naptime, even though he was great at staying in his room/crib. He was more tired during the day and would fall asleep amidst playing.
Billy likes to sleep on the floor in his room. A lot. But he only falls asleep there at designated sleeping times.
Rusty has only ever fallen asleep in his bed. Well, occasionally the car and stroller when he was littler. And Sunday he was so tired after church that he almost fell asleep on the car ride home (we live about a quarter of a mile from the church). But otherwise, this little boy doesn’t just fall asleep places. I like to think it is because he is so well rested. I don’t know, but I do know that the other morning, he was on the couch watching cartoons looking like this:
That is very much NOT typical for Rusty. I went down and put a blanket on him. I think his eyes acknowledged that I was there, but otherwise, he didn’t move. Twenty minutes later, I found him sound asleep like this:
He slept that way for about 45 minutes before Billy decided to wake him up. Even more surprising to me is that Rusty still took his normal afternoon nap!
It had been a rough night for him and Tommy. I knew Rusty was tired. I was just surprised when he actually fell asleep. He was so sweet looking that I almost wished my kids would fall asleep like this more often.
