I have been delaying Tommy’s first hair cut. I don’t know why. Probably because I know that once the hair gets cut, they look so grown up. But last Monday, I bit the bullet and attempted the hair cut.
The first hair cut requires at least three people … one to cut, one to hold, and one to man the camera.
A pacifier is also helpful as it keeps down the amount of hair that enters bambino’s mouth.
This first hair cut could have probably used 5 or 6 people … one to cut, one to man the camera and three or four to hold bambino’s head, arms and legs still.
He looks docile enough, but there was a lot of moving going on. Cutting fine baby hair is hard enough, but fine baby hair on a moving target is even trickier.
Tommy handled the hair cut really well. There were no tears or fears … just a lot of head thrashing as he tried to see what those sharp blades were doing to his head.
Kevin did have to resort to some head holding so I could smooth out a few places.
When all was said and done, not too shabby of a hair cut. Good-bye, baby mullet and mo-hawk. Hello, big one year old!
